Consistent RF tests from R&D to conformance testing
The R&S®TS8980 family of test systems offers modular, upgradeable hardware and software configurations starting from benchtop setups for development and extending to fully rack-integrated conformance test systems. This approach plus the R&S®CONTEST test software, ensure optimal results in applications ranging from development to final testing. The use of the same methods and device drivers in R&D applications and conformance test ensures a high reliabiliy of the test results obtained by using the R&S®TS8980 in the early R&D phase.

Rohde & Schwarz is committed to support all LTE RF conformance test cases on the R&S®TS8980 platform. WCDMA Release 7 (HSPA+) RF test cases as well as LTE RRM test cases will become available in a future option 1).
Precise, reproducible measurement results
The fully automated path calibration used in the R&S®TS8980IB RF conformance test system and high-speed self-test mechanisms deliver maximum accuracy and reproducibility of measurements results. While a highly optimized full self-calibration run is only required every 12 months, the online calibration facility performs efficient day-to-day level corrections without the need for manual intervention.
Low cost of ownership
Scalable configurations starting with a standard R&S®CMW500 plus the R&S®CONTEST test environment ensure an optimum match of budget and functionality. The instruments used in the system require calibration only every 24 months.
Efficient use of the test system through automation
RF tests can be fully automated if required: This makes it possible to use the system continuously, independent of working hours. An optional extension further increases the level of automation by allowing sequential testing of multiple devices under test (DUTs) on one system.
